The World-Class Palmilla Golf Course in Cabo San Lucas

April 20, 2016

The Palmilla Golf Club was Jack Nicklaus’ first Latin American design and is recognized as the premier golf course in the Cabo San Lucas area. It has ocean views from every hole and is as challenging as it is beautiful. Get your golf trip planning started with Cabo airport transportation - Palmilla is famous for hosting the 1997 PGA Senior Tour and the 2007 Audi World Cup Finals. It boasts three 9-hole courses: the Mountain, the Ocean, and the Arroyo.

"Being here and seeing this course has aroused some enthusiasm in me I hadn't felt for a while. I can't tell you that I've enjoyed playing any course any more than I did this one. This is a fantastic setting."
            ~Arnold Palmer

The Palmilla
is a 27-hole course that is perched on deep canyon arroyos. It challenges golfers with daily trade winds that help hone accuracy skills. On the grounds you will find a Mexican-decor clubhouse and a pro-shop with expert staff to assist you with your every golfing need.
The on-site cantina, The Palmilla Grill, offers breakfast, sandwiches, lunch, light snacks, and beverages. Their signature items include the Palmilla Fish Tacos, Quesadillas, and top shelf Margaritas.

The Golf Courses

The Pamilla course is divided into the Arroyo Nine, the Mountain Nine, and the Ocean Nine, and Pamilla has five sets of staggered tee boxes to ensure an exciting game for golfers of absolutely every level.

The Ocean Course flows to the ocean as you play along the beaches. The Ocean Nine layout, featuring a 600' elevation change from hole one to hole six, takes advantage of the natural desert and mountain terrain, and features challenging directional changes. It offers breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez, and at several holes, you're within a pitching wedge of the ocean. The course stretches 3,527 yards from the championship tees.

The Arroyo Course features a landscape that is desert-like with deep canyons and centuries-old cardon cacti. Watch for the wildlife in the form of quail, roadrunners, and hawks. This nine-hole course stretches 3,337 yards. Holes six, seven, and eight – called "three of the best holes in all of Los Cabos Golf" – offer formidable doglegs, lengthy forced carries and sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez.

The Mountain Course offers views of the mountain landscape and blues skies. This course is a varied and interesting nine-holes that extend 3,602 yards. The third hole, which is famously known as "one of the greatest par fours of the world," leads you 470 yards uphill to an ample driving area. At holes four and five, you'll encounter an impressive water reservoir that is quite the distraction.
